Aluminium Bronze Sand Casted Components for Pumps

SAND CASTED impellers

The different aluminum bronze alloys are used to make the different types of impellers (single or double entry) needed to operate the pumps. The alloy is mainly used for seawater applications where marine corrosion is an important technical factor.

The parts are sand casted molded, by hand or by semi automatic carousel. The components are delivered raw, roughed out or machined finished; with or without heat treatment Quality controls are carried out according to customer specifications, which may include:

- Penetrant testing

- X-Rays and/or Ultrasonic control

- Chemical analysis and mechanical characteristics

For retrofit applications where it is sometimes necessary to improve the efficiency of the pumps, the use of 3D sand printing makes it possible to widen the choice of possibilities.
